Zavratnica, which is one of the most beautiful coves of Adriatic coast, is located within the Nature Park Velebit.
It certainly is a “must see” destination due to its combination of blue sea, gray Velebit stone and various vegetation. The cove is around 900 meters long and its width varies between 50 to 150 meters. A beautiful 1-kilometer-long seafront promenade leads to it.

Zavratnica also has its history: at the very end of the cove a German ship was sunk in World War II.
It was also one of the Vjencislav Novak’s, who is famous Croatian writer from the period of realism, most favourite places for writing and finding inspiration for his literary works.
