Easter in Croatia: ‘Za Krizem’ exhibition opens in Jelsa on Hvar

Jelsa – Preparations for the UNESCO-protection Easter Procession in Jelsa are underway, with the opening of a photo exhibition in the town’s museum.
A photography exhibition by Paolo Buncuga highlighting one of the world’s most interesting religious festivals opened in the Jelsa Municipal Museum on March 31, 2012, an event covered by Digital Journal.

If you choose to celebrate Easter on the island of Hvar, you will partake in a celebration that has not changed for five centuries. The Great Thursday and Great Friday procession called Following the Cross, undertaken every year by the folk from the interior of the island, has indeed been held for five hundred consecutive years.
