
Dubrovnik is for sure one of the most visited places in Croatia, and it is on the bucket list of many travel lovers.
It was not mistakenly called the jewel of the Adriatic coast thanks to clear sea, beautiful beaches, many beautiful natural landscapes, historical monuments and plenty more breathtaking content. Here are 5 main reasons why Dubrovnik is such an attractive place for tourists.
1. Climbing the famous city walls

Dubrovnik’s city walls are massive 2 kilometers long walls made of stone which surround the city. They are very famous historical and architectural heridage and have been on UNESCO World Heridage list since 1979.
The walls have been built for 5 centuries (from 12th to 17th), they are about 25 meters high and they provide the most beautiful views. It takes you around 2 hours to walk the Walls, so the best time for start the walk is either morning or late afternoon (around 5 or 6 pm). Iti s definitely worthy experience that you won’t regret. The Walls also appear in very popular tv show “Game of Thrones” just like many other locations in Dubrovnik.
2. Lokrum island

The Lokrum island is located only 10 minutes away from Dubrovnik. It is a small island ideal for relaxing and an escape from the noise and crowds in the town. On Lokrum you can visit the old Benedictine monastery from the Middle Ages, or Botanical Gardens that contain hunderds of various species.
3. Rector’s palace

Rector’s palace is for sure one of the most known and popular architectural monument in Durbovnik. It was built in Gothic style with some Renaissance and Baroque characteristics that were added in the reconstruction. Rector presided over self-government and in the palace you can find many collections icons, old masters, coins, statues, antique furniture, weaponry etc.
4. Delightful and dazzling beaches

Dubrovnik beaches are mostly pebble and rocky which provides you the possibility of jumping into the clear beautiful sea. The most popular beaches and the closest to the old town are Banje Beach and Buža bars. Kee pin mind that they both are pretty small, so you’ll have to get up early to find a spot, but once you do you can be sure to relax and enjoy the sounds and smells of the sea, and also swimming.
5. Kayaking

For those of you who enjoy kayaking, you’re going to enjoy even more in kayaking around the old city walls of Dubrovnik. The winds are not too strong, and water is mostly calm so rowing shouldn’t be too hard for anyone.
