Croatia for sure is a place worth of exploring because of its natural and cultural heritage such as crystal clear Adriatic sea, many beautiful islands, national parks and many other picturesque places.
One of the many ways of exploring Croatia’s beauty is exploring the Croatian islands and coast by bicycle.
1. Cycling in Kvarner
The Opatia Riviera which is probably the most beautiful Croatian riviera leaves everyone breathless. The bicycle path reaches from Kastav all the way to Brseč and it is about 40 kilometers long. The secret of beauty lies in beautiful views, secret coves and untouched nature.
2. Krk island
There are lots of bicycling routes on island of Krk. The most popular and recommended one stretches from Punat, through Sv. Donat, Baška, Šila – Vrbnik, Garica, Kornić, Lakmartin and Muraj to Krk.
3. Rab island
The island of Rab is the greenest Adriatic island. The route that we suggest is the one that starts from the Rab waterfront and passes through the towns of Palit, Kampor, Suha punta, Dundov, Rt Kalifront, Sv. Mari – Rab waterfront, and it’s about 30 kilometers long.
4. Cres island
The exploration of island Cres should start at the Cres marina. This route passes through Valun, Zbičine, Pernat and then it goes back to the Valun. It is quite demanding, full of climbs and requires a lot of fitness. Those more demanding cyclists should definitely visit the bike paths of Gorski kotar and Velebit.
5. Krka Bike
The project Krka Bike consists of 470 km of cycling routes through the Krka National Park.

There are 15 cycling routes in the Park, and the longest one, called “Royal Route” is 95 kilometers long. It starts in front of the Krka National Park branch office in Skradin and ends in Burnum which was military amphitheatre in Roman empire. On the other hand, the shortest route, which is 8.5 kilometers long stretches from Skradin upstream to Skradinski buk waterfall which is considered as the most beautiful waterfall in Krka National Park.
